XMFC/Kiss and Control
The next morning, Charles is awake far earlier than he normally would be, for once not having to be woken up by Erik's insistence. He's quiet and distant throughout breakfast, and with no classes first thing he quickly withdraws himself to his study.
It doesn't matter what Erik or anyone else says, he's still in turmoil over what he had almost done to Emma. He no longer trusts his own control. His powers have never truly scared him before now.

"You have this power. It's there, inside you. If you don't have control over it, it will be dangerous."

Charles is still feeling more than a little panicked about the emptiness he had caused in his fiancé's mind. He doesn't want to even risk doing that again.

"I can't... I can't risk doing that to you. What if I can't wake you up again?"

//I'm scared// he finally admits.

"We'll take things very slowly. I won't throw any more knives until we've worked this out."
no subject
//Slow// he finally agrees to. //No more tricks//

"Now you have to stop me doing that again," he murmurs, and throws up his walls.
Before leaning in...

His effort is, therefore, understandable half-hearted, barely scratching at Erik's walls.
no subject
"Well, that wasn't very effective liebe," he mumbles against his mouth.

"Mm...we should be training..."
no subject
He'll go back to training after this kiss.

//Do we have to?//

//See, I brought your walls down.//

//You'd better not try this on all our enemies//

Charles allows them both one more lingering kiss, before forcefully rolling his chair away. They should work.

"Instead, perhaps, I should attempts to touch your face. To avoid...distractions."
no subject
"Perhaps I can stop you from attempting something less... physical."
no subject
"Fine, liebe. I shall attempt to pick up this book from the table."
Erik gestures towards the copy of Camus' L'Étranger he had been reading earlier.
no subject
//Erik, ignore the book.//
no subject
But no. He is focussed on the book. He had to pick up the book.
His fingers reach towards it.
no subject
//You do not want the book. You want to sit back down.//
no subject
His fingers brush the cover of the book.
